Dutch National Database for Physiotherapy
Submit treatment data securely to the Dutch National Database for Physiotherapy (LDF) through Flux and gain insight into your treatment outcomes.Overview
The Dutch National Database for Physiotherapy (LDF) is an initiative of the Royal Dutch Society for Physical Therapy (KNGF). The LDF collects quality data on physiotherapy care and practice information. This data helps physiotherapists monitor, compare, and improve the care they provide.
With the integration between Flux and the LDF, you can submit treatment data automatically or manually. This helps you meet submission requirements and gives you more insight into your practice's performance and treatment outcomes.
Configuration
In Flux, go to Settings → Apps → LDF to configure the Dutch National Database for Physiotherapy (LDF) integration and submit treatment data.
Requirements
To activate the LDF integration, you need the following:
- A user in Flux with the Owner role
- Active EPD-LDF integration credentials (username and password) from the LDF pre-portal. Do not use your LDF portal or dashboard login for this.
Flux setup
Open the LDF app in Flux. Use the EPD-LDF integration credentials from the LDF pre-portal.
- Enter your EPD-LDF username and password
- Click Activate
The integration is then active. From that point on, you can submit treatment data to the LDF automatically or manually.
Dutch National Database for Physiotherapy
With the LDF, you gain insight into treatment outcomes at practice level and, where applicable, at the level of individual physiotherapists. This helps you monitor, compare, and improve the quality of care.
Mandatory participation
For practices included in the public Practice Register of the Kwaliteitshuis Fysiotherapie, submitting data to the LDF is mandatory. For other practices, participation is voluntary, but it still provides valuable insights for quality improvement.
Patient consent
Sharing data with the LDF requires the patient's explicit consent. You record this informed consent via an opt-in. You can register this consent during intake or later in the treatment process.
- Without consent, Flux does not share any data with the LDF
- A patient can withdraw consent at any time
- After consent is withdrawn, Flux automatically stops submitting data from that treatment episode
Submitting
You can submit treatment data in two ways, depending on how you want to work:
- Automatic submission: Flux submits LDF data automatically at the start of each month. Once this option is enabled, no further manual action is required.
- Manual upload: if you want to submit LDF data manually, open the LDF app and click Submit to start a submission immediately.
Review results
If the entire upload file is rejected or not processed correctly, contact customer support. In many other cases, you can investigate errors yourself by looking up the patient by ZIS number.
Data submission
Flux submits treatment data according to message specification version 11. Data that could lead to identification is encrypted by Mediquest to protect patient privacy. By submitting complete and accurate data, you increase the value of reports and benchmarks. The processing report helps you review and improve the quality of your submission.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about the Dutch National Database for Physiotherapy (LDF).
What is the Dutch National Database for Physiotherapy (LDF)?
The LDF is an initiative of the KNGF through which physiotherapy practices submit quality data for research, benchmarking, and quality improvement within physiotherapy.
Is participation mandatory?
For practices that participate in the Kwaliteitshuis Fysiotherapie, submission to the LDF is mandatory. Other practices can participate voluntarily.
How do I connect my EPD to the Dutch National Database for Physiotherapy?
To exchange data with the LDF, you need an active integration between your Electronic Patient Record (EPD) and the Dutch National Database for Physiotherapy.
KNGF provides technical specifications and code lists that determine which data is submitted and in what format. These specifications are updated in response to developments in the field.
To activate the integration in Flux, use the EPD-LDF integration credentials from the KNGF LDF pre-portal. These are not your LDF portal or dashboard login details. Flux follows the current submission specifications and securely sends the correct data to the LDF as soon as the integration has been activated. Read on the KNGF website how to connect your EPD to the LDF and review the current specifications and code lists there.
How is patient data protected?
Data that could make a patient identifiable is automatically encrypted by Mediquest into irreversible pseudonyms. Flux does not send directly identifiable personal data.
Can I review what has been submitted?
Yes. In the Dutch National Database for Physiotherapy app in Flux, you can see which files were submitted successfully.
