## Overview

Shortcuts help you use Flux more efficiently by running common actions directly without a mouse. You can quickly navigate between screens, open patient records, start searches, and fill in forms with minimal interruption.

In Flux, shortcuts are available on different screens and features, including the dashboard, calendar, patient records, and financial administration.

## Command menu

You can also use the shortcut to open and close the command menu:

- :kbd[Ctrl] + :kbd[K] on Windows or Linux
- :kbd[Cmd] + :kbd[K] on a Mac

## Calendar

:kbd[Shift] :kbd[N] to create a new patient

:kbd[.] to search for a user

:kbd[Shift] *right-click* to select a user

:kbd[A] previous user

:kbd[D] next user

:kbd[E] switch between day and week

:kbd[T] today

:kbd[1] - :kbd[9] to select appointment types

:kbd[0] to deselect appointment types

The arrow keys take you to the item above, below, left or right of the one you have selected. Those are appointments and, once you have picked an appointment type, free time slots as well. Landing on an appointment opens it, just like a click. When appointments sit side by side, :kbd[←] and :kbd[→] first move to the appointment next to it. A column is a day, or a user in day view. Columns without appointments or time slots are skipped, and past the last column you continue with the next day or week.

:kbd[Shift] :kbd[E] :kbd[→] to immediately select a user in week view from the specific user’s day view
